Johnny Bench hit a two-run homer in the 10th inning to give the Reds an 8-6 victory over the Braves after Hank Aaron had tied the score in the ninth with his second circuit clout of the game. Aaron's two homers gave him 30 for the year and marked the 14th time he had hit 30 or more to break Babe Ruth's record of 13 seasons. The Braves' superstar also increased his career total to 669, leaving him with 45 to go to match Ruth's record 714. [The Sporting News]
