Although Steve Carlton gave up 10 hits and struck out only four, the Phillies' lefthander was able to beat the Expos, 5-3, for his 24th victory. Coco Laboy homered for the Expos. After Willie Montanez drove in two runs for the Phillies with a single in the third inning, Greg Luzinski broke a 3-3 tie with a circuit clout in the sixth. Montanez walked with the bases loaded in the seventh to receive credit for his third RBI of the game. [The Sporting News] |
