Monty Montgomery, who came up from Omaha (American Association) in August, beat the Angels for the second time and contributed a double and single to the Royals' 15-hit attack in a 7-2 victory. Tom Murphy provided a helping hand by pitching the ninth inning. Montgomery doubled and scored the Royals' first run in the third inning and then singled to break a 1-1 tie in the fifth when the Royals struck for four runs. [The Sporting News]
