Pitching in relief, Jim McKee gained his first major league victory when the Pirates defeated the Expos, 4-3, in 12 innings. McKee pitched three stanzas and held the Expos scoreless on two hits. Mike Marshall, who hurled the last 3 2/3 innings for the Expos, was the loser when Richie Zisk singled to drive in Gene Clines with the Pirates' winning run. [The Sporting News]
