Although Jim Perry gave up only two hits and one walk, the Angels were able to defeat the Twins' righthander, 2-1. Both runs scored in the second inning when Leroy Stanton singled, Billy Parker drew a pass and Jack Hiatt tripled. Harmon Killebrew homered for the Twins' tally in the fourth. Rudy May, who was the winner, was lifted in the eighth, ending a string of seven straight complete games by the Angels' staff. [The Sporting News]
