Breaking the Royals' club record, John Mayberry reached the 100-mark in RBIs by driving in four runs with a triple and homer in a 9-2 victory over the Athletics. The former Royals' record was 99 RBIs by Bob Oliver in 1970. Mayberry drove in a run with a triple in the fourth to tie the score at 2-2 and then shattered the deadlock by hitting his homer with two men on base off Vida Blue in the fifth.
