The Brewers, who had been shut out by Steve Kline in 17 previous innings this season, broke his hold and defeated the Yankees, 6-1, behind the six-hit pitching of Ken Brett. George Scott doubled to drive in a run off Kline in the first inning. Bobby Murcer homered to tie the score in the Yankees' half. The Brewers then beat Kline with a three-run outburst in the eighth on a single by Brock Davis with the bases loaded, a sacrifice fly by Scott and single by Dave May. [The Sporting News]
