Although the temperature was down to 39 degrees, a crowd of 39,464 turned out for the opening of new Royals Stadium and saw the Kaycee crew trounce the Rangers, 12-1. The Royals piled up 11 hits, including a single and homer by John Mayberry, who drove in four runs.
