A brilliant defensive play by Felix Millan took the edge off a Cardinals' rally in the ninth inning and enabled the Mets to emerge with a 5-4 victory. Millan made a backhanded stop of a smash by Lou Brock behind second base for a forceout and, as a result, the Cardinals scored only one run on a single by Ted Sizemore before the rally ended.
