. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Tigers completed a sweep of the four-game series by defeating the Red Sox, 11-7, with a 16-hit attack that included a three-run homer by Mickey Stanley. Bill Freehan and Aurelio Rodriguez each had four hits in five trips.

The Tigers did not assure their victory until the eighth inning when they scored three runs, one of them coming when Al Kaline stole home on the front end of a double steal with Willie Horton. Orlando Cepeda and Dwight Evans hit homers for the Red Sox. [The Sporting News]
