A homer by Ken Singleton with two men on base capped a five-run outburst in the sixth inning as the Expos edged the Phillies, 6-5. John Boccabella singled and scored on a double by Pepe Frias to break a 1-1 tie. Mike Jorgensen also doubled to drive in Frias. After Ron Fairly walked, Singleton hit his homer. The Phillies made the game close with a run in the seventh and three in the eighth, two of them unearned, before their rally failed. [The Sporting News]
