A single by Darrell Porter and homer by Dave May, the Brewers' only two hits off Mel Stottlemyre, were enough to defeat the Yankees, 2-0. Stottlemyre retired the first 15 batters before Porter singled to open the sixth inning. John Vukovich struck out and Pedro Garcia forced Porter, but May then won the game with his homer. Jim Slaton pitched the shutout on a five-hitter. [The Sporting News]
