A two-run rally in ninth inning brought the Twins a 5-4 victory over the Rangers. Rico Carty hit a three-run homer for the Rangers in the first inning, but the Twins came back with the tying trio in the second. Tony Oliva was hit by a pitch and Bobby Darwin homered. After two out, Jerry Terrell singled, stole second and scored on a double by Jim Holt.

The Rangers went ahead, 4-3, in the sixth on a homer by Alex Johnson. Danny Walton singled to start the Twins' rally in the ninth, Darwin walked and Terrell singled to tie the score. After a pass to Danny Thompson, Holt singled to drive in the winning run. [The Sporting News]
