Ken Holtzman and Horacio Pina combined to pitch the Athletics to a 4-0 victory over the Indians. Holtzman, who failed to go the route for the first time in four starts, was lifted with two men on base and two out in the eighth inning. Pina retired the last four batters and posted the first save to the credit of the A's bullpen this season. The A's scoring against Gaylord Perry included a homer by Ted Kubiak in the seventh inning.
