. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Hitting safely in his 16th straight game, Bob Watson rapped a pair of doubles to lead the Astros to a 4-2 victory over the Mets. The Astros got off to a quick start in the first inning with three runs on singles by Tommie Agee and Tommy Helms around an infield out and doubles by Watson and Jim Wynn. Watson hit his other two-bagger in the third and scored on a single by Roger Metzger. [The Sporting News]
