Willie Davis, after failing to sacrifice, knocked in a run with a triple in the 11th inning to spark the Dodgers to a 5-3 victory over the Cardinals. Bill Buckner, who was on base with a single, scored on Davis' three-bagger. Joe Ferguson then walked. Lee Lacy grounded to Ray Busse and Davis was out at the plate, but Ron Cey drew a pass to load the bases and Davey Lopes hit a sacrifice fly to add the clinching tally.
