. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Staked to a four-run lead by the Angels in the first inning, Rudy May pitched his second consecutive shutout and beat the Indians, 5-0. Tommy McCraw and Vada Pinson cracked singles to open the initial frame. After Bobby Valentine forced McCraw at third, Frank Robinson singled to drive in Pinson. Jim Spencer followed with a two-run triple and then scored himself on a two-out single by Al Gallagher. [The Sporting News]
