Staked to a four-run lead by the Angels in the first inning, Rudy May pitched his second consecutive shutout and beat the Indians, 5-0. Tommy McCraw and Vada Pinson cracked singles to open the initial frame. After Bobby Valentine forced McCraw at third, Frank Robinson singled to drive in Pinson.
