. . . where the 1970s live forever!

With a bases-loaded single by Ed Kranepool as the key blow, the Mets rallied for three runs in the eighth inning to beat the Braves, 4-2. The Braves took a 2-1 lead in the seventh with a homer by Davey Johnson and run-scoring single by Sonny Jackson.

In the Mets' eighth, Felix Millan singled, Willie Mays doubled and Rusty Staub was passed intentionally to fill the sacks. Kranepool followed with his single to drive in two runs. Jerry Grote added an insurance run with another single. [The Sporting News]
