Two homers by Dick Allen and one by Ed Herrmann, who also drove in the decisive run with a sacrifice fly, paced the White Sox to a 6-5 victory over the Orioles. Allen homered in the first inning and led off the fourth with his second blast of the game. Then, after one out, Ken Henderson singled and Herrmann hit for the circuit. In the sixth, Bill Melton, Henderson and Rick Reichardt singled for one run and Herrmann lofted his sacrifice fly for the winning marker. [The Sporting News]
