. . . where the 1970s live forever!

In a duel between two former Cardinal teammates, Jerry Reuss came out ahead of Steve Carlton and pitched the Astros to a 3-0 victory over the Phillies. Jim Wynn homered in the fifth inning. The Astros' other runs followed in the seventh. Larry Howard doubled and scored on an infield out and passed ball. Wynn was hit by a pitch and, after stealing second, crossed the plate on a single by Hector Torres. [The Sporting News]
