Steve Busby failed in his bid to pitch a second straight no-hitter, but the Royals' young righthander recevied credit for a 5-3 victory over the Brewers. Busby, who hurled his gem against the Tigers April 27, added 5 1/3 hitless innings to his string before Dave May smashed a homer for the Brewers.

Upset by the blow, Busby walked four of the next five batters and was taken out of the game in favor of Mike Jackson. John Mayberry led the Royals' attack, driving in three runs with a homer and single. [The Sporting News]
