Pete Rose and Johnny Bench drove in all of the Reds' runs in a 7-1 victory over the Phillies. Rose, who singled and scored on a double by Bench in the first inning, knocked in two runs with a single in the third. Denis Menke was hit by a pitch in the eighth, Jack Billingham sacrificed and Rose singled for his third RBI. Then, after a single by Dave Concepcion, Bench homered. [The Sporting News]
