Ed Kirkpatrick hit two doubles and a triple, driving in one run and scoring three, as the Royals defeated the Tigers, 7-2. Paul Schaal batted in Kirkpatrick with a single in the second inning and homered with Kirkpatrick on base in the eighth. Amos Otis also hit a homer for the Royals.
