The Rangers made use of an error, walk and hit batsman to gain a 5-3 vistory over the Brewers. A wild throw by Jim Slaton led to the Rangers' initial tally in the fourth inning. Doubles by Vic Harris and Ken Suarez added two runs in the fifth. Then, after a single by Dave Nelson, Toby Harrah and Alex Johnson walked to force in Suarez.

Mike Epstein was hit by a pitch in the eighth and Rico Carty walked. Epstein moved to third as Jeff Burroughs forced Carty and scored on a grounder by Elliott Maddox. A walk to Suarez, sacrifice and single by Johnson added an insurance marker in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
