John Mayberry hit a single, triple and homer to pace the Royals' attack in a 6-2 victory over the Twins. Mayberry drove in the Royals' initial run with a single in the first inning and his triple led the way to three runs in the fourth. The slugging first baseman capped his day with a two-run homer in the fifth. The Twins' runs off Bruce Dal Canton were unearned. Dal Canton allowed 10 hits, but the Royals backed him by turning four double plays. [The Sporting News]
