With two out in the 10th inning, the Angels scored on successive singles by Jim Spencer, Rudy Meoli and pinch-hitter Tommy McCraw to defeat the Royals, 3-2. The Royals picked up their initial run in the third on a walk and singles by Amos Otis and John Mayberry.
