. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Homers were decisive in a split of a twi-night doubleheader as the Rangers won the first game, 7-6, and the Twins took the second game, 6-4, in 11 innings. The Rangers, who were trailing in the opener, 6-5, opened the ninth with a single by pinch-hitter Mike Epstein. Jim Mason forced Epstein and Vic Harris struck out, but Toby Harrah then hit his first homer of the season for two runs to win the game.

In the nightcap, Bobby Darwin homered in the 11th inning to break a 4-4 tie and the Twins went on to add an insurance run on a single by Steve Braun and two errors. [The Sporting News]
