Dave May, who hit only nine homers in 1972, smashed his 10th of the season to break up a 17-inning game and carry the Brewers to a 2-1 victory over the Indians. The Brewers collected 18 hits, including four by May and four by Tim Johnson, but their only other run came in the eighth, tying the score, when Darrell Porter singled, Gorman Thomas sacrificed and Pedro Garcia doubled.
