Three doubles helped the Twins rally for four runs in the seventh inning to defeat the White Sox, 8-6. Back-to-back doubles by Danny Thompson and George Mitterwald produced the first run to tie the score at 4-4. After Rod Carew walked, Tony Oliva sliced a double down the left field line, scoring Mitterwald and Carew. Bobby Darwin added the fourth run with a single. Bill Melton and Dick Allen hit homers for the White Sox to account for five runs. [The Sporting News]
