. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Bobby Valentine slammed into the center field fence and suffered a fractured leg chasing a three-run homer by Dick Green in the second inning of the Athletics' 4-0 victory over the Angels. Reggie Jackson led off the inning with a triple and, after two out, Ray Fosse walked before Green hit a drive that bounced off the top of the fence. Bill North accounted for the A's last run with a homer in the fifth. [The Sporting News]
