A single by Dave May for his fourth hit of the game capped a three-run rally in the ninth inning and enabled the Brewers to defeat the Yankees, 6-5. Gorman Thomas walked with one away and Pedro Garcia singled. When Bob Heise forced Thomas for the second out, the Brewers' rally seemed over, but Don Money doubled to score Thomas and May followed with a single to plate Heise and Money with the tying and winning runs.
