Dave Concepcion batted in three runs with a double and single to lead the Reds' 15-hit attack in a 6-4 victory over the Astros. Clay Carroll, making his second start for the Reds since coming out of the bullpen, pitched the first five innings, but did not return to the mound after rain delayed the game for 55 minutes. Ed Sprague and Pedro Borbon finished. Bob Gallagher, pinch-hitting for the Astros in the eighth, hit his first major league homer. [The Sporting News]
