. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Wayne Twitchell pitched the Phillies to a 7-4 victory over the Pirates, but failed to distinguish himself as a batter, striking out four straight times to establish an N. L. record of eight consecutive whiffs in two games. Greg Luzinski and Willie Montanez took care of the batting for the Phillies. Luzinski drove in three runs with a double and single, while Montanez hit a homer with a man on base in the ninth to wrap up the victory. [The Sporting News]
