. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Dave McNally broke his personal six-game losing streak with credit for a 5-4 victory over the Royals, but the Orioles almost blew the game in the ninth inning before Bob Reynolds retired the last two batters to save the victory. McNally was lifted in the seventh after giving up the Royals' second run.

Eddie Watt, who relieved, was knocked out with one away in the ninth when the Royals scored twice on a walk, triple by Paul Schaal and single by Freddie Patek. Rich Coggins drove in two runs and scored one for the Orioles. [The Sporting News]
