Ellie Rodriguez drove in one run with a single and two more with a homer to lead the Tigers' 14-hit attack in an 8-3 victory over the White Sox. Gates Brown also homered for the Tigers, while Jim Northrup, who reached base four times with two doubles, a single and walk, scored three runs and batted in one. Bill Melton homered in the second inning for the White Sox and that run stood up until the Tigers pulled away with two runs in the fifth and four in the sixth. [The Sporting News]
