Homers by Roger Metzger and Johnny Edwards helped carry the Astros to a 4-1 victory over the Cubs behind the three-hit pitching of Ken Forsch. Metzger, leading off, hit his homer on Milt Pappas' second pitch of the game. Edwards added his round-tripper in the fifth. The Astros' final two runs counted in the sixth on singles by Bob Watson, Lee May and Doug Rader, along with a sacrifice fly by Tommy Helms. [The Sporting News]
