After being robbed of a round-tripper in the first inning, Thurman Munson pulled a tie-breaking homer into the left field stands in the eighth to give the Yankees a 4-3 victory over the Athletics. In the first, after the Yankees had scored two runs, Munson smashed a drive to right field, where Reggie Jackson made a running one-handed catch, hit the wall and tumbled into the seats.
