. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Cubs built up a 7-3 lead on two homers by Billy Williams and one by Ron Santo, but the Braves wiped out their deficit with a five-run rally in the seventh inning to gain an 8-7 victory. Marty Perez doubled, took third on a fumble by Rick Monday and scored the first run in the Braves' comeback on a sacrifice fly by Darrell Evans.

Mike Lum singled and Ralph Garr homered to add two runs. Dusty Baker walked, stole second and counted the tying tally on a single by Johnny Oates. Jose Cardenal bobbled Oates' hit, allowing the batter to reach second, and Dick Dietz then singled to drive in the deciding run. [The Sporting News]
