A single by pinch-hitter Bill Sudakis with two out in the 14th inning scored Jim Spencer from second base and gave the Rangers a 4-3 victory over the Orioles. Spencer led off with a single and moved up on a slow roller by Dick Billings. After an intentional pass to Jeff Burroughs, Grant Jackson relieved Bob Reynolds on the mound for the Orioles and retired Vic Harris on a pop fly, but Sudakis then batted for Jim Mason and singled off the glove of shortstop Mark Belanger.
