The wildness of Balor Moore proved costly to the Expos' lefthander, who allowed only four hits in seven innings but lost to the Dodgers, 3-2. Moore walked Davey Lopes in the first inning, Bill Buckner beat out a bunt and both runners moved up on a wild pitch. Lopes then scored on an infield out by Willie Davis and Buckner crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly by Joe Ferguson.

A walk to Ferguson, sacrifice and double by Bill Russell added what proved to be the deciding run in the sixth. The Expos collected five hits off Don Sutton, including two doubles by Ron Woods, who scored both Montreal runs. [The Sporting News]
