With Dave Roberts pitching a shutout, the Astros defeated the Phillies, 7-0. The Astros loaded the bases in the fourth inning on a walk to Jim Wynn and singles by Bob Watson and Lee May. Doug Rader singled to drive in two runs. Tommy Helms doubled to plate another pair and Skip Jutze added a fifth run with a single. Wynn completed the scoring with a two-run homer in the seventh.
