Tito Fuentes hit a triple, double and two singles, driving in three runs and scoring two, to lead the Giants to a 7-2 victory over the Pirates. Garry Maddox also accounted for three RBIs with a sacrifice fly and triple. The Pirates did not pick up their pair off Tom Bradley until the ninth inning when Dave Cash tripled, Richie Hebner plated the run with an infield out and Willie Stargell followed with a homer.
