Homers by Jim Ray Hart and Roy White helped the Yankees defeat the Rangers, 8-6. Hart hit his homer with two men on base in the sixth inning when the Yankees exploded for five runs to take a 5-1 lead. The Rangers rallied to tie the score in their half of the sixth, but Horace Clarke singled for the Yankees in the seventh and White followed with his homer. A single by Matty Alou and double by Ron Blomberg added another run. [The Sporting News]
