The Angels, who had not scored for Nolan Ryan in 22 innings, finally broke their drouth to enable the fireballing righthander to defeat the Tigers, 3-0. Winston Llenas and Frank Robinson led off the sixth with singles. Bob Oliver forced Robinson at second, but Mike Epstein walked to load the bases. Ken Berry forced Llenas at the plate for the second out.
