Boots Day hit his first homer since August 23, 1971, driving in two runs in the first inning, to start the Expos off to a 9-6 victory over the Giants. After Day's drive, the Expos added two more runs in the first, loading the bases and scoring on grounders by John Boccabella and Bob Bailey.
