Hank Aaron hit the 689th homer of his career to account for three runs as the Braves defeated the Pirates, 9-7. The Braves, after scoring twice in the second inning, erupted for six runs in the fourth. Davey Johnson homered with a man on base and Johnny Oates drove in a run with a single before Aaron delivered his three-run blast. Carl Morton was the winner, but the Braves had to call on four relievers to stop the comeback efforts of the Pirates. [The Sporting News]
