Joe Torre and Ted Simmons collected seven hits between them and drove in three runs apiece as the Cardinals scored in double figures for the second straight night to defeat the Reds, 11-5. The Cardinals, who had never beaten Ross Grimsley previously, losing six times, knocked out the lefthander with a five run blast in the third inning, three runs counting on a homer by Simmons.
