Every Yankee batter except designated hitter Jim Ray Hart joined in an 18-hit attack en route to an 8-3 victory over the Athletics. The Yankees bunched four singles for two runs in the second, added another tally on three hits in the fifth and wound up their scoring with five unearned runs on two errors and five singles in the ninth.
