. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Although Carl Yastrzemski hit his third three-run homer in three nights, the Angels were able to defeat the Red Sox, 5-3. A double by Frank Robinson and single by Ken Berry produced a run for the Angels in the fourth before Yastrzemski cracked his homer in the sixth.

The Angels came right back with the tying pair in their half on a single by Vada Pinson and homer by Robinson. Singles by Rudy Meoli, Sandy Alomar and Pinson provided the tie-breaking tally in the seventh and the Angels added an unearned run for insurance in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
