. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Rollie Fingers provided last-out help for Dave Hamilton in a clutch situation to save the Athletics' 3-0 victory over the Yankees. Fingers took over with two men on base. Ron Blomberg, the league's leading hitter, then came up to bat for Thurman Munson and grounded into a forceout to end the game. The Athletics used singles by Bill North and Reggie Jackson around a walk to score in the first inning and added their other runs on homers by Sal Bando and Jackson in the sixth.
